It’s been a fun and dynamic experience over the last ten (10) months I have been assigned to Carib Brewery Ltd (CBL/Caribbean Development Company (CDC).

Some of my current responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing contracts to ensure that they are updated and compliant with Group/company policy
  • Analysis and improvement of workflows within Inbound Logistics
  • Setting up cross functional Inventory Management Projects across the Planning and Customs Department
  • Processing Purchase Requisitions

For day to day operations such as processing requisitions, the flexibility is usually limited because performance is bound by established policies and procedures. I have a lot more flexibility to determine how I perform with project-based aspects of the job.

The most challenging aspect of my job is being able to adapt and execute quickly. The learning curve is always steep but I am still expected to make positive contributions and to ultimately perform well. I usually get a sense of satisfaction when I can make connections between what I have learnt and the ‘big picture’ i.e. running a company.

The atmosphere at Carib is energetic and people are welcoming. There are hectic moments that come with the manufacturing and logistics arm of the business, but overall, it’s a positive environment.

I admit now to lecturing to any family member/friend that I see with a non-Carib Brewery product as I see myself as a Brand Ambassador by extension.

The Champions program is a testament to the Group’s commitment to long term success. I see many interesting opportunities in the Group that will hold my interest and challenge me to improve for years to come.
